Thinking

I have become attached to Kuma. I joined a ferret group on Yahoo, and some members ferrets have recently died. I wouldnt know what to do if that was Kuma that died. Its odd I have had dogs and real life human friends that dont effect me like Kuma does. I saw on criagslist somebody was selling a Ferret cage and ferret for 175. The poor ferret was in an aquarium with wood shavings. I felt sorry for the poor ferret, and wanted to buy her. Sadly though I didnt save her.

Nothing special.

The ferrets have been doing really good. The other day the 18 pound bag of food came in the mail. Kuma loves the box it came in. He runs an jumps in it, then starts to jump up and down in the box like some kind of monkey. He will challenge any ferret or person who comes close to his box. Kuri has gotten some size on him now, so Kuma is no longer assured his place as of King of Ferrets. I think Koyuki hates human feet, whenever she sees uncovered feet she will attempt to bite them. She loves to switch her hiding spots for her chew toys and sunglasses. Once she moves them from one spot to another Kuma moves them back.

Koyuki's Birthday, and escaping the cage.

We celebrated Koyuki's first birthday. We got her a party hat and baked her a Vanilla cake. Kuma and Kuri came for the party. Kuri was alittle jealous because he hasn't had his party yet.
Koyuki has found a flaw in the cage construction that allows her to slide through the bars of the cage and escape. Where the two halves of the cage combine with one another there is a row of bars that are space farther apart from the rest of the bars. This row of bars must be covered with cardboard to prevent her from escaping.

Kuma's Birthday

Well alot has happened since my last post. First it was Kuma's birthday. He turned one on June 10th. So we made him a cake and invited his friends over. Sadly he couldn't eat any of the cake though. Actually it was brownies. Anyway we through him alittle party. A local Petland was going out of business so we got them a bunch of Ferret products aswell as a new hammock. The Hammock is really a cube. Kuma likes to get on top of the cube. Koyuki will even climb up to the top floor to get in it. I read on some forums that you can use Advantage kitten formula to kill fleas on Ferrets. So I bought some and it worked, killed all the fleas. Kuri eats all the time, he has gotten huge. He is almost the same size has Kuma. Anyways every one is doing good.

They steal everything

This little guys love to steal. Koyuki, and Kuri steal anything they can. On my porch I have a 4 inch PVC tube they play in. Koyuki dragged my work boots out there and tried as hard as she could to fit the boot in the tube. Kuri likes to take his loot and put it under the Kitchen cabinet. There where three shoes and a remote under there. When you catch them with what ever they are attempting to steal they accelerate to light speed to evade capture.
They all have adapted to the new cage. Kuma spends his time on the top level in his Hammock. Kuri likes the the third level, but will sleep in either hammock. Koyuki stays on the ground level in her hammock, she sometimes ventures up one more level. I would not recommend this cage to any other Ferret owner. The ramps are to steep and the shelves need extra support.
I cannot seem to eradicate the fleas. They are not bother us. They are only on the Ferrets, try as I might I cannot get rid of them.

New Condo

Today their new ferret cage came. It is Marshall's Ferret Townhouse. It is a great deal bigger than there old cage, however they dont really seem to care for it as of yet. I am curious to see how well this cage will hold up, I have my doubts. Lately Kuri has gotten ahold of my XBOX live microphone. He has destroyed two of them already. Koyuki has stolen a pair of sunglasses and put them in their play tube. I have noticed that fleas are becoming a problem.

Ok so I will start now. I am Smitty, but I really dont matter im here to talk about our ferrets. We have three Kuma, Koyuki, and Kuri. Kuma is the Alpha male he thinks hes top ferret. Kuma is a handsome sable. Koyuki is a female Polar Ferret or Albino if you prefer. She is a rather odd ferret. She tends to keep to herself. The wierdest thing about her is she loves Wii remotes. She will do anything to get one, I constantly have to hide mine. Kuri is a youngster we just got him. He is already wrestling with Kuma. I can tell in the future he is going to give Kuma a run for his money. Ferrets are great. There is no other pets like them
